Opportunity description

The Dag Hammarskjöld Fund for Journalists welcomes applications from journalists for its 2018 fellowship program. Applicants must be 25-35 years old coming from developing countries in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean who are currently working for media organizations. They must also have approval from their media organizations to spend up to three months in New York to report from the United Nations.

The fellowships are available to radio, television, print and web journalists who are interested in coming to New York to report on international affairs during the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly. Applicants must demonstrate an interest in and commitment to international affairs and to convey a better understanding of the United Nations to their readers and audiences. Four applicants will be selected to take part in the fellowship program starting in early September and extending to late November and will have the cost of travel and accommodations in New York all covered, as well as a daily allowance.
