Opportunity description
United World Colleges (UWC) offers full and partial scholarships for high school students to obtain the International Baccalaureate (IB) degree, with the aim of enhancing their experience through the two-year program 2019-2021 preceding their college education.
Eligibility
- The student's parent/legal guardian agrees to their child's application through signing the application form.
- The candidate must be at least 15 years and six months old and not more than 18 years old as of August 1, 2018.
- The candidate must have scored at least 80% in the previous year, and an 80% for the first semester of the academic year 2017/2018.
- The candidate pays an amount of JD 35 when applying for the test at the Jubilee Center for Educational Excellence.
- It is necessary to bring one of the following documents as proof of identity (passport or personal ID of civil status or a school ID with a passport sized photo of the student).
- The candidate should be prepared to contribute effectively in the extracurricular activities carried out by faculties.
- The candidate must commit to study for two consecutive years at the college in which he/she will be enrolled and submit at the end of the second year of the general baccalaureate examination. Courses will be taught in English.
- The student must bear any costs incurred by the tickets at the beginning and end of each academic year and any other petty expenses as per the grant.
- If the student obtains a partial grant or a scholarship without a grant, the guardian shall, in coordination with the National Committee, pay the fees of the National Committee for the whole period, two years, to transfer the amount to the school concerned.
Stages of Application
- Candidates who meet the above conditions are subjected to:
A written exam in Arabic and English.
A one-day student camp, to be scheduled later. - The test will take place at the Jubilee School, located in Shafa Badran, next to the military housing, on Monday, December 3, 2018, at 12:00 noon.
