Opportunity description
Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) is offering international undergraduate scholarships in Korea for students all over the world.
Eligibility and Requirements:-
- Candidates who have graduated or will graduate from his or her high school by August 31st of the year of their application.
- Applicants must have foreign citizenship (not Korean).
- The student must have a certificate of English proficiency at the time of application. TOEFL, IELTS, TEPS, TOEIC with no minimum score required. Only tests taken within two years before the deadline of the online application are valid.
- One of the following official test score reports are required: SAT1, SAT2, AP, IB, GCE A-Level, ACT, Certificate of International Olympiad, the relevant country's qualifying test for high school graduation or college entrance examination.
Conditions:-
- GIST does not acknowledge alternative qualification examinations and programs such as GED, home schooling, online courses and other such qualifications for the International Students Admission process.
- Applicants who have participated in cyber learning from their school due to COVID-19 are eligible if they submit an explanatory letter and evidence.
- GIST does not have a transfer program for international students. All applicants must apply as a freshman student.
Benefits:-
- Student allowance ₩130,000 ($115) per month. Gained at least 11 credits in the previous semester. Achieved a GPA of at least 3.0 out of the 4.5 scale in the previous semester. No academic probation in the previous semester. Not applicable to the disciplinary periods imposed by school due to the student's improper behavior.
- A full Tuition fee waiver Granted to all international students without any conditions.
- Meal allowance ₩270,000 ($240) per month.
- Flight reimbursement one -way flight After one month of study in the first semester.
- Settlement subsidy ₩200,000 ($178) Granted to all international students without any conditions.
