Opportunity description

About the fellowship:

CBFP Global invites early to mid-career biological scientists working in biological science laboratories from Jordan and Iraq to apply for the Cooperative Threat Reduction (CTR) Biosciences Fellowship Program. Selected fellows will conduct a science fellowship that requires the fellow to travel for four to six months in duration, thus allowing them to engage in research in different scientific fields at a host institution different than their home country beginning no earlier than September 2019. The selection is based on the needs and interests of the fellow and the capabilities and expertise of the host institution.

Eligibility:

To be eligible for the program, you must:

[1] Be an early to mid-career biological scientist working in government ministries, government-operated biological science laboratories, and/or research and diagnostic facilities in Iraq or Jordan. Applicants from universities and private laboratories will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

[2] Hold a Bachelor of Science degree. Applicants with Master of Science or PhD degrees are preferred.

[3] Proof your English language proficiency, in verbal and written communication.

Funding:

Successful applicants will receive a fully-funded fellowship, as CBFP will make all necessary travel arrangements and accommodations (travel, lodging, medical insurance, and living stipends) for the duration of the fellowship. After a preliminary selection process identifies the best candidates, these individuals will undergo a host matching process and an official United States Government (USG) review of their candidacies. Final fellowship approval is contingent upon a successful match between a fellow and a host institution, as well as USG approval. The CBFP team has an extensive network of scientists, experts, laboratories, and research facilities, and will match selected fellows’ research interests with a suitable host research institution.
