Copenhagen Business School (CBS) is a public university situated in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark. ِِِCBS offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs within business. CBS is ranked highly in an array of rankings being one of the few schools worldwide to hold the "triple-crown" accreditation. Today, with 20,000 students and 1,500 employees, CBS is one of the largest business schools in Europe and one of the 8 Danish universities.
The Department of Commercial Law at CBS aims to maintain and develop its recognized position in Business Law within the following three research and teaching areas:
[1] Contract and Finance Law, including Law & Economics
[2] International Commercial Law and EU Market Law
[3] Company and Tax Law
Copenhagen Business School invites applications from master’s students for a vacant PhD Scholarship in Commercial Law. The PhD project must be within the previously mentioned research areas. The three-year PhD program at CBS allows you to conduct research under the supervision of CBS professors, supported by research training courses. The program is highly international and students are expected to participate in international research conferences and spend time abroad as a visiting PhD student. The Department will give priority to applicants with high grades from their universities.
To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
[1] Should have a basic training at the master's degree level
[2] Having an educational background in the social sciences is necessary
[3] Must have successfully completed the master's degree before commencing PhD at CBS
[4] Must be fluent in English
It is also required that the applicant shows an interest in joining the department’s research environment.
A PhD scholarship runs for a period of 3 years, and includes teaching obligations equivalent of a half year’s work (840 work hours). The scholarships are fully salaried positions. Admitted candidates will be appointed at CBS and their salaries will be determined in accordance with the Ministry of Finance’s agreement with the Central Academic Organization. The scholarship includes the tuition fees, office space, travel grants plus a salary, currently starting at DKK 23.770 per month (equivalent to 3,160 euro) up to DKK 28.964 per month (equivalent to 3,860 euro) depending on seniority, plus a pension contribution.
