Opportunity description

The Materials Theory and Simulation (MaT2Sim) group in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Clemson University is seeking motivated Ph.D. students to work on problems related to materials modeling using atomistic and continuum frameworks.
Their work is highly interdisciplinary and draws concepts from applied mathematics, mechanical engineering, and condensed matter physics.

Eligible Candidates

Only applicants with an undergraduateGPA of at least 3,6 from the University of Jordan or JUST will be considered. Desired skillset: Great command of several concepts in Mathematics (PDEs, numerical analysis, etc.), programming in C/C++/Python/MPI/OpenMP, and/or strong background in Materials Science and Mechanics. Applicants from Physics, Mathematics, and Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, and Civil Engineering are encouraged to apply.
