Deakin University is inviting students from all over the world, who have finished their master degree to apply for its HDR Scholarship. The PhD student will initiate and conduct research on the topic 'Beyond Recognition: Postcolonial Relationality Across Difference' led by Professor Yin Paradies. The successful applicant will be based at the Geelong Waterfront, Waurn Ponds or Melbourne Burwood Campus.
This PhD project is about the politics of recognition and refusal for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians. This research is partially funded by the Australian Government through the Australian Research Council.
Eligibility criteria:
[1] The scholarship is open to international and domestic candidates.
[2] Applicants must be a new commencing student.
[3] Applicants must be enrolling full time and hold an Honours degree (First Class) or an equivalent standard Master's degree with a substantial research component.
[4] Comply with the University's English language requirements.
[5] Completion of research project in a related area including a thesis which is equivalent to at least 25% of a year’s full-time study at Level 8 or 9 of the Australian Qualifications Framework with achievement of a grade for the project equivalent to a Deakin grade of 70% or equivalent or masters degree (Research) in a related area.
