Athenea3i is a research fellowship program focused on attracting highly talented researchers to the University of Granada (UGR) in order to benefit their research career with International, Interdisciplinary and Intersectoral opportunities. This innovative fellowship program offers the experienced researchers an outstanding opportunity to develop new skills and competences, enriched with a personalized and pioneering career mentoring plan. Athenea3i also includes research periods at some of the most distinguished and outstanding institutions around the world, and optional secondment in regional, national and international companies.
The duration of each fellowship will be 36 months to be executed at the UGR. During the fellowship, the fellows may do an optional:
[1] Outgoing Phase in an international entity to be planned between the month 10th and the month 18th.
[2] Secondment in an international entity to be planned during the last 18 months of the project. The candidates are encouraged to second their time in a large company or SME.
Thematic field of applications:
Applicants can choose their research topic freely within all academic areas. They will be organized in:
[1] Environmental Sciences and Chemistry (ENV-CHE).
[2] Economic Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities (ECO-SOC).
[3] Information Science and Engineering (ENG).
[4] Life Sciences (LIFE).
[5] Physics and Mathematics (PHY-MAT).
Note: At least one fellowship per area will be funded.
Financial conditions:
The fellowship will cover the following:
[1] Living allowance: 4000 Euro.
[2] Mobility allowance: 50 Euro.
[3] Family allowance (if applicable): 200 Euro.
[4] Child allowance (if applicable): 100 Euro
[5] Research/ Training costs: 500 Euro.
[6] Secondment (if applicable): 200 Euro.
Eligibility criteria:
Applicants for the fellowship, at the date of the call deadline, must meet the following requirements:
[1] Nationality: the UGR welcomes researchers from any nationality.
[2] Doctoral degree: it is mandatory to hold a Doctoral degree.
[3] Doctoral degree elapsed period: no more than 7 years ago. We will consider an extension period to these 7 years in case of maternity leave (18 months per child), paternity leave or long-term illnesses (all these exceptions have to be properly certified).
When applying for this fellowship, the following documents must be submitted:
[1] Administrative application form fully completed.
[2] Scientific Project Proposal.
[3] Curriculum Vitae in Europe Pass template.
[4] Copy of the doctoral degree.
[5] Certificate of contract/residence/enrollment/long stays outside Spain to justify the mobility rule (in English).
[6] Required document(s) to justify the time elapsed since the doctorate (if applicable).
[7] Letter(s) of reference (in English).
[8] Ethics Self-Assessment, if applicable (in English).
[9] Letter of Commitment from the UGR supervisor (in English).
