The Bibliothek Andreas Züst is considered in the tradition of libraries as a place of knowledge in the sense of diversity. It offers through its residency program the chance for cultural workers from around the world, that will deal with the library as a whole or only one of its sub-areas. It is seeking applicants who will entail research about what constitutes the fabric of our culture and also what goes beyond it.
Twice annually, the Bibliothek Andreas Züst offers three studio residency stipends for cultural workers across the disciplines of visual arts, literature, new media, music, theatre, design, architecture, film, photography, and all art-related disciplines. The first program in November 2018 and the second in April 2019. The program gives the applicants the chance to stay for a total of four week in an inspiring location for working, with the opportunities of exchange and relaxation.
For accommodations, applicants must submit a statement specifying their specific interests and describing their motivation in seeking a residency. For each recipient of a studio grant, there is a private bedroom available with an individual area for working, a shared studio, as well as a shared kitchen, dining and living rooms. Travel costs are also covered. A separate request can be made for an additional subsidy for living costs of up to CHF 250 per week.
