Opportunity description

Shanghai Government announces the opportunity to have one of the fully funded Shanghai Government Scholarships 2021 for the excellent international students who apply for the undergraduate, graduate, or Ph.D. program at East China Normal University. Shanghai Municipal Government Scholarship was established in 2006 with the aim to enhance the development of international student education in Shanghai and encourage more and more outstanding international students and scholars to East China Normal University (ECNU).

Benefits

If you have been admitted to one of these scholarships you will get one of the following: 

A)- Full scholarship that will cover:

  1. Tuition fee.
  2. Accommodation on campus.
  3. Comprehensive medical insurance.
  4. Monthly living expense:
  • Doctoral program: CNY3500.
  • Graduate program: CNY3000.
  • Undergraduate program: CNY2500.

B)- Partial scholarship that will cover:

  1. Tuition fee.
  2. Comprehensive medical insurance.

Eligibility criteria

You must follow the following conditions:

  • Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and in good health.
  • The non-Chinese citizen with a valid foreign passport.
  • Students that have won the Chinese Government Scholarship or any scholarship offered by other organizations are not entitled to apply for SGS.

For the pre-college program:

  • High school diploma and be under 23.
  • Duration: 4 years.
  • Guardian's Letter of Guarantee is required for applicants under 18 years old. The guardian should be in China.

For the bachelor's degree program:

  • High school diploma and be under 25.
  • Applicants of English-taught programs from non-English native speaking countries should have IELTS (6.0 or above) / TOFEL (80 or above)/Cambridge English (B2 or above) certificate.

For master degree program:

  • Bachelor's degree and be under 35.
  • Duration: 2-3 years
  • For Chinese-taught programs, new HSK-5 with a passing score of 210 or new HSK-6 with a passing score of 180. For English-taught programs, an effective English Language Test Certificate or official proof is required.

For doctoral degree program:

  • Master's degree and under 40.
  • Duration: 4 years.
  • For Chinese-taught programs: HSK Level 5 over 210.

For English-taught programs: A test Certificate or official proof of taking English.
