American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) has announced fellowship opportunity for one year at Bayer facility in Cambridge. The fellowship will start on 1 July 2020. researchers can determine the suitable time for them at a laboratory by mutual agreement between them and Bayer facility. Association seeks to encourage exceptional clinical research in the cancer field through this fellowship. the fellow will receive 100,000$ over the year to support the salary and the benefits of fellow. Selected fellows acquire real-world experience in clinical development at the facilities of Bayer, including drug development, clinical trial design, and data analysis. Outstanding fellows may be invited to extend the fellowship for an additional year.
Criteria for Acceptance:
- Applicants must have a medical degree (including MD, DO, or MD/Ph.D.) in a related field to the scholarship, and not currently be a candidate for a further doctoral degree.
- Researchers who are currently enrolled in an accredited hematology/oncology or radiation oncology fellowship program within the United States can apply.
- There are no citizenship requirements. However, the applicant who is not a citizen or a permanent resident assures that the visa status will provide sufficient time to complete the project and grant term.
- Applicants should be AACR (American Association for cancer research) members.
- investigators may concurrently apply for many AACR grants but can hold only one AACR grant at a time.
- Employees of a U.S. government entity or for-profit private industry are not eligible.
- Any individual who currently holds an active AACR grant may not apply. Past grantees may apply if they complied with all progress and financial report requirements.
Training Experience During the Course of the Fellowship:
- The researcher will acquire the knowledge needed for trial design, data analysis, and protocol development.
- The researcher will be able to design and complete a clinical research project.
- The researcher will participate in weekly meetings and additional training on-site as well as s/he will have opportunities for publication and presentation of the research.
Important Dates:
- The application deadline is on August 12, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. U.S. Eastern Time
- Announcement of the fellow winners will be on September 2019
- Grant term will start on July 1, 2020
Note: Grant recipient must attend the Grants Reception and Dinner on April 28, 2020, to formally accept the grant. Grant funds may be used to support the grantees’ registration and attendance at this Annual Meeting.
Funding:
Each fellowship provides $100,000 over one year to support the salary and benefits of the fellow while working at a Bayer facility in Cambridge, MA.
