Arab Reporters for Investigative Journalism (ARIJ) is offering over 6 training grants in an unusual workshop to produce televised Investigation directly supervised by channels producers and international platforms (BBC Arabia, France 24, Deutsche Welle), those joining in this workshop have to be fellows who satisfy all required Standards from all Arab Countries, the workshop is divided into 3 phases during the year 2019.
The first phase starts as soon as the nominees get selected through remotely communicating with ARIJ team, to work on developing ideas and accomplish the greater part of the research. The participants move to the second phase through coordinated presentation of the portrayed ideas (which has already been initially approved by ARIJ team) to the participating international channels producers, later on after producers taking interest in the portrayed ideas the participants move to the third phase to prepare a final research file and attend the Amman workshop, which will take place between the 23rd and 26th of June with the attending of documentary producing fellows from international platforms. During the workshop, the final work plan will be agreed upon and the implementation will be carried out by ARIJ team to produce televised investigations with good quality and a refined professional level.
Scholarship Requirements:
- Participants should present at least one idea that can be the foundation for an investigation. It should be applicable according to ARIJ criteria. It is preferred that the idea presented concerns the Arabian audience and has an international influence, it is not necessary for the idea presented to be from the journal's home country.
- The participants should submit an official agreement from their job on the presented ideas if they happen to work in a news organization.
- An assurance letter that guarantees full-time engagement in the producing and training process according to the time plan agreed upon with the supervisors of the workshop.
- The applicant should have the capability to work within a team in order to produce cross-border investigations.
ARIJ network commits to the preservation of the presented ideas privacy, in addition to offering professional, editorial, administrative and financial aid to help journalists in accomplishing their investigations professionally.
