Opportunity description
The Victor Pinchuk Foundation invites artists from all around the world to participate in the Future Generation Art Prize, which is a biannual global contemporary art prize to discover, organize and give long-term support to a future generation of artists. It was established by the foundation in 2009, and the prize supported the artistic development and production of new works of over 84 artists in exhibitions as official collateral events at the Venice Biennale in 2011, 2013 and 2017.
Eligibility criteria includes:
[1] Participants must be between 18 and 35 years of age at the time of application
[2] Participants must only apply once during the application session
[3] A group of artists can apply as one participant, and any artist who belongs to a group that has applied can apply individually as a separate participant
[4] All works of art, regardless of category or media are eligible for submission
[5] Each participant must agree to take part in the Prize Exhibition if selected by the selection committee
[6] Every participant must agree to pass to the organizers all rights to use an image of his artwork(s) for publication and communication without any payment as long as its use is not damaging and/or intended to damage his/her reputation as an artist
[7] A participant may be asked at any time to provide all relevant proof of the accuracy of any submitted information to the satisfaction of the organizers
Prizes:
An outstanding selection committee, appointed by a distinguished international jury, will review every application and nominate 20 artists for the short list. The main prize winner receives $100,000 split between a $60,000 cash prize and a $40,000 investment in their practice. Up to 5 special prizes are awarded at the discretion of the jury. A total amount of $ 20,000 will be awarded to special prize winners for supporting projects that develop their artistic practice.
