Opportunity description
The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) in cooperation with the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency awards grants to promising high-level research projects in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics. Applying research units must be led by a researcher from a developing country who holds a PhD with a good research experience, in addition to having at least one Master’s of Science student under supervision. Women scientists and those working in least developed countries are especially encouraged to apply. The grant aims to reinforce scientific research in basic sciences in developing countries.
The research grant is a maximum of $30,000 provided for 24 months. Salaries of researchers, field, and travel expenses are not covered.
