Opportunity description
The UAE National Committee on SDGs, in collaborations with the Hamdan bin Mohammad Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award (HIPA), invites all amateur and professional photographers from around the United Arab Emirates and around the world, to showcase their portfolios in the UAE’s SDG Photography Award.
The Categories:
- PORTFOLIO (STORY TELLING): The portfolio category renders the photographer’s story telling skill through 5 to 10 photographs. The challenge lies in the details of capturing photographs in separate frames that would tell a story by themselves, complimented by a 100 words short story and connection to a SDG.
- PEOPLE: End poverty and hunger in all its forms and ensure that all people can reach their potential in dignity and equality in a healthy environment.
- SINGLE PHOTOGRAPH CATEGORY: A single shot can inspire a global change. The world today faces many challenges including lack of decent economic growth, inequalities across society, climate change, peace, and strong sustainable partnerships. Fortunately, there are many solutions that inspire hope for our future. The aim is to capture one frame that inspires global change, for a better world – not only for us today but also for all future generations.
- PROSPERITY: Ensure prosperous and fulfilling lives in harmony with nature by providing affordable and clean energy, decent work and economic growth through innovative industries and infrastructures whilst reducing inequalities and building sustainable cities and communities.
- PLANET: Protect our planet’s natural resources and climate for future generations by finding solutions to provide clean water and sanitation across all countries, responsible consumption and production across all sectors, tackling climate changes hands on and protect life below water and life below the land.
- PEACE: Foster peaceful, just and inclusive societies through strong institutional measures, which are free from fear and violence.
- PARTNERSHIPS: Implement the agenda through a solid and global partnership and maintain sustainable partnerships for a better world, every day.
