Opportunity description
The International Tourism Cartoons Competition invites all amateur and professional cartoonists to participate with their works within the 2018 theme competition “Travel memories.” Cartoons will be accepted in two categories:
[1] Adult Category: Open for all cartoonists who are 17 and older
[2] Young Category: Open for cartoonists who are 16 and younger
Requirements:
[1] The competition is open to all amateur and professional cartoonists.
[2] Each participant is allowed to submit a maximum of three works.
[3] The cartoons submitted to the competition may be prepared as original drawings, digital printings, or computer printouts. The drawing technique is open-ended. Drawings may be colorful or black and white. On the other hand, performers are required to put signatures on their drawings.
[4] Participants must write their names, surnames, and addresses behind their drawings. Also, they must complete the Participant Information Form placed under submission page and send it together with their drawings.
[5] Cartoons sent may be of ones previously published somewhere but previously awarded cartoons are not allowed to submit.
[6] Finalist cartoons will be published in the album. Cartoonists whose drawings published in this album will be sent a copy of the album.
Awards:
[1] Adult cartoonists:
- The Grand Award: $3,000
- The Second and Third Award: Holiday in Turkey for 5 days for 2 persons
- Professor Atila Ozer Recognition Award: $1,500
[2] Young cartoonists:
- The Grand Award: $1,500
- Two Achievement Awards: Plate
About the International Tourism Cartoons Competition:
The objective of the International Tourism Cartoons Competition, which was first held in 2009, is to examine tourism, which is one of the biggest sectors in the world, with its various dimensions. Also, the competition aims to put forward cartoonists’ aspects in terms of traveling population’s experiences and relations during their travel. In this respect, the main objective of this competition is to assess such topics, developments and experiences within the tourism industry as accommodation, transportation, food and beverage, recreation, sightseeing, museums, environment, and tourist-resident relationships from cartoonists’ point of view.
