Opportunity description

Are you a student who is bright in math and want to be awarded for your efforts?

The International Youth Math Challenge (IYMC) invites high school or university students from all around the world with math skills to participate in the competition for 2018. Students can join the challenge by solving at least 3 math problems, become an IYMC ambassador in their countries and join the international IYMC network for outstanding students. The math problems range from geometry to number theory to make sure that everyone finds interesting problems to solve, which makes the competition more variant. Teachers, parents and schools are also invited to share this opportunity with their students and to make talented students in particular benefit from the challenge.

To join the challenge, participants must:

[1] Be high school or university students from any country (at least 10 years old)

[2] Solve at least 3 (age under 18) to 4 (over 18) of the problems correctly

Since the challenge is international with participants distributed all around the world, it is crucial to have official IYMC ambassadors in several schools, cities, and nations. To become an ambassador, participants must:

[1] Represent their school/city and manage an IYMC student group

[2] Ensure that their country has vital IYMC activity

[3] Be at least 14 years old, interested in mathematics or programming and willing to spend the time to encourage students to participate in the challenge

Prizes:

There will be 3 major prizes for the first 3 winners: prize of $200 and a certificate, prize of $150 and a certificate and a prize of $100 and a certificate. All finalists and participants will also receive certificates, and schools/teachers with successful participants will receive special awards that are not connected to a cash prize, but are supposed to honor the efforts of the schools and individual teachers.
