Khalifa International Photo Contest for Date palm and Agricultural Innovation 2018

The General Secretariat of Khalifa International Award for Date palm and Agricultural Innovation in cooperation with Abu Dhabi International Photographic Society announce the launch of the 9th international photography competition “Date Palm Through the Eyes of the World” ….. Photographers from around the world are invited to participate in this competition in recognition of the date palm tree and strengthening the role of the photographer in enriching the country's memory, revitalize its national heritage, and promoting sustainable development in all its dimensions. Photographs must focus only in the date palm tree in all its dimensions, products, tools, conditions, and derivatives. A Specialist Technical Committee will judge the contested photos, sort out the results, and announce the winners name.

Features to be covered by the competition:

[1] Date Palm Tree (whole, parts hereof, in different seasons …etc) in landscape deferent environment.

[2] Fruits of date palm tree (ripe dates “ruttab”, dried dates, unripe dates…) still life, creative, and commercial ideas are welcomed.

[3] Heritage industries and handicrafts which depend on the date palm parts such as palm leaves, fronds, and branches.

[4] People and their close relation with the date palm tree.

Rules:

[1] The competition is entitled for all photographers above the age of 16 years around the world.

[2] Entries are limited to not more than 4 images in one section (DATE PALM TREE - Color or Monochrome).

[3] Photos must be shot by the photographer their-self. Must be in high resolution not less than dpi 300 (2600 x 2400) Mega pixels. Photographs must be submitted in JPG format only. Photos taken by any mobile phones will not be accepted.

[4 ]The contestant must create an account and upload the photos through the website www.datepalmphotos.com 

[5] Combined works or those with added features will not be accepted, such as time and date of shooting and the signature of the photographer.

[6] Photos transferred to black and white are accepted or modified by editing programs provided that there is no change in colors or contrast of the photo.

[7] Participating photos should not been published before or participated in other competitions; the Award management has the right to reject or withdraw the prize if it proves so.

[8] By virtue of submitting an entry, the entrant certifies the work as their own (aliases are not permitted). The entrant permits the sponsors to reproduce all or part of the entered material free of charge for publication and/or display in media related to the exhibition.

[9] The Award management is entitled to reject any participating photo that does not meet the terms and objectives and the competition is not oblige to give any justifications.
