Opportunity description

The Matsumae International Foundation (MIF) invites non-japanese professionals with a PhD degree to apply for its fellowship program. Admitted fellows will spend 3 to 6 months between April 2019 and March 2020 in Japan and are free to choose the hosting institutions (university research laboratories, national research institutions or the corresponding facilities of private industry). Applicants must live in their home country prior to the fellowship and must return home when the fellowship program is period. They should not have past or current experiences of staying in Japan, except for short-term stay. (E.g. sightseeing, conferences).

The fellowship funding supports insurance, air transportation, stipend for research and stay and a lump sum on arrival.
