Opportunity description
Maastricht University in the Netherlands is offering refugee master’s students residing in Belgium or Germany the opportunity to apply for the Refugee Scholarship program for the academic year 2019-2020.
Eligibility criteria:
- You have a strong motivation to pursue a Master’s degree
- You hold a nationality in a country outside the EU/EEA and are a refugee in Belgium or Germany
- You can prove that you reside in the Euregion
- You are willing to sign a consent form that you will not move to the Netherlands and agree to commute to Maastricht University
- You have applied for admission to a full-time Master’s program at Maastricht University for the 2019-2020 academic year. Please note that the Master’s programs Medicine and Physician-Clinical Investigator are not eligible for the UM Holland Euregion Refugee Scholarship
- You have never participated in a degree-seeking higher education program in the Netherlands
Scholarship value:
The scholarship consists of a tuition waiver in the amount between €11.717 and €14.717 to cover the difference between statutory tuition fees and institutional tuition fees. The awardee should pay tuition in the amount of €2.083, equal to a refugee with a residence permit (type III) in the Netherlands. The university also covers pre-academic training (up to €695).
