Opportunity description
The University of Twente in the Netherlands is offering international students the opportunity to apply for Nuffic’s Orange Knowledge Program, a global development program funded by the Dutch government. The program offers scholarships, training and institutional partnerships between education institutions in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and higher education. The objective of the scholarship is to contribute to the society’s sustainable and inclusive development by strengthening the skills and knowledge of both individuals, groups of individuals and organizations. Qualifying master’s programs include:
[1] Business Administration
[2] Industrial Engineering and Management
[3] Public Administration
[4] Civil Engineering and Management
[5] Construction Management and Engineering
[6] Industrial Design Engineering
[7] Mechanical Engineering
Applicants must:
[1] Be nationals of and must live and work in one of the participating countries in the program
[2] Be employed by a large organization which can be expected to have their own funds for staff development, e.g. a multinational corporation, a large national and/or a large commercial organization, a bilateral/multilateral donor organization or an international NGO
[3] Be professionals with multiple years of relevant work experience and a network within a (local or regional) developmental relevant theme. Nominations must be made by employers in order to be considered eligible, and applicants must not be employed by an organization that has its own means of staff-development or is considered a large business
[4] Not be nominated for more than one fellowship in the program for courses/programs that take place at the same time
[5] For the program, certain priorities have been indicated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs such as: food and nutrition security, water, energy and climate, reproductive health and rights in addition to security and the rule of law. Applicants must clearly state their interest in one of these areas in their country/region
Value of scholarship:
The scholarship value depends on the duration of the program at the University of Twente as well as on the in-house or external components. The scholarship does not cover all the costs of the study trajectory, as it is not a full fellowship.
