About the Fellowship:
The American University in Cairo (AUC) is delighted to offer the Kamal Adham Fellowship for Television and Digital Journalism. The fellowship is designed to aid deserving and qualified graduates of Journalism and Mass Communication programs, as well as professionals in mid-career television and digital journalism positions, from Egypt and other countries who wish to pursue full-time study toward a 1.5 year master’s degree in television and digital journalism at AUC. Fellows will be assigned up to 20 hours per week of related academic or technical work.
Eligibility:
To be eligible to apply for the fellowship, you must fulfill the following requirements:
[1] The fellowship is open to all nationalities. But preference is given to graduates of Egyptian public universities and professionals in the broadcasting industry.
[2] Applicants must be graduates with a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
[3] Minimum grade point average of 3.0. Applicants with slightly lower GPA must have sufficient relevant work experience.
[4] Meet AUC graduate admissions requirements, including submission of AUC graduate application and needed documents.
[5] Proven English proficiency.
[6] Proven interest and achievement in television and digital journalism
[7] Do an interview with the program director to assess candidates’ commitment, potential and communication skills.
[8] To retain the fellowship, the recipient must carry a full course load (nine graduate credits) and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above.
[9] Proof a financial need.
Funding:
Successful applicants will receive a fellowship that covers the following:
[1] Full or partial tuition coverage for the MA program.
[2] May cover prerequisite courses and one semester of intensive English language courses as needed.
[3] Book allowance per semester.
[4] Student services, transportation, and activities fees.
