Opportunity description

Jacobs University in Germany is offering funded Masters scholarships for outstanding students around the world.

Available Disciplines:

  • Data Science for Society & Business (MSc) (English-language). 
  • Data Engineering (MSc) (English-language). 
  • Supply Chain Management (MSc) (English-language). 
  • Psychologies (MSc) addresses German-speaking Psychologies Bachelor of Science graduates.
  • International Relations: Global Governance and Social Theory (MA) focuses on the analysis of governance beyond the nation-state. The program is offered jointly by Jacobs University Bremen and the University of Bremen.

Scholarship Value:

  • The scholarships are up to € 12,000 per academic year.
  • EU students are eligible for a minimum guaranteed scholarship of €4,000.

Selection Criteria:

  • Jacobs University Graduate Scholarships are merit-based, taking into account the applicant's personal achievements without regard to his/her material wealth or resources. 
  • Jacobs University Graduate Scholarships do not need to be repaid.

Required Documents for Data Science, Data Engineering, and Supply Chain Management MSc programs:

  • LETTER OF MOTIVATION: Please limit your letter of motivation to 1 page.
    • When writing your letter of motivation, ask yourself the following questions:
    • Why have I chosen Jacobs University to continue my education?
    • Why should I be admitted to my chosen master's program?
    • Which qualities make me an exceptional candidate?
  • CURRICULUM VITAE: Make sure your CV describes your academic and professional information, extracurricular, and voluntary activities. If you don’t have any professional experience, you can describe the academic projects you were part of during your studies.
  • TWO LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION: All letters must be duly signed and if possible sealed by the issuer. Make sure that letters explicitly say your name, the name of the issuer, and his/her contact information
  • BACHELOR TRANSCRIPT IN ENGLISH OR GERMAN: If it is not in one of these two languages, submit the original document along with its official translation.
  • BACHELOR DEGREE CERTIFICATE IN ENGLISH OR GERMAN. If it is not in one of these two languages, submit the original document along with its official translation.
  • ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY TEST:
  • An English language proficiency test with a minimum score of 90 (TOEFL), 6.5 (IELTS), or 110 (Duolingo). 
  • Native speakers and applicants who completed their undergraduate studies in English may be exempt from this requirement.

  • GERMAN LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY TEST: Non-native German speakers applying for the MSc Psychologie need to provide a German language proficiency test (Goethe-Zertifikat level C1, TestDaF level 4 or DSH level 2). Please note that this is a bilingual program taught 2/3 in German and 1/3 in English. German proficiency is required.
  • ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY TEST: A 6. English language proficiency test with a minimum score of 72 (TOEFL), 5.5 (IELTS), or 90 (Duolingo).
