Opportunity description
The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) invites organizations, communities, businesses, governments and others that are taking concrete action on climate change, to apply to have their projects recognized as a Lighthouse Activity in the Momentum of Change for 2018. Applicants must address climate change, be already implemented, be innovative, and deliver social and environmental benefits. They also must not be registered as a clean development mechanism or joint implementation initiative in the next two years. The projects must focus on four areas: Women for Results to recognize the leadership and participation of women in addressing climate change, Financing for Climate Friendly Investment to recognize the successful financial innovations for climate change, Planetary Health to recognize solutions that balance the need for both human health and healthy planet, and Climate Neutral Now to recognize the efforts by individuals, companies, and governments achieving real results in the field.
Successful applicants will receive a fully covered attendance to the 2018 UN Climate Conference in Poland, access to policy makers and potential funders, and public recognition by the UN climate change staff. They will also get public relations support, media training, and marketing materials including promotional videos and a dedicated page about their winning project.
