Opportunity description
The Nestlé Nutrition Institute (NNI) offers grants for research fellowships in the fields of mother and child health/nutrition to health professionals from all over the world applying for a postgraduate research training. Applicants must be affiliated with an academic/clinical institution, and priority will be given to applicants in junior positions from emerging countries. All institutions offering a training program in the area of maternal and/or child health and nutrition are eligible to be a host institution. The duration of the training will be a maximum of 12 months, and successful applicants will be required to start their training within 1 year of being notified of the fellowship award. Applicants who have already spent more than 12 months outside their home country during the 3 years preceding the application are not eligible to apply, but exceptions could be made if the applicants can justify how this additional training will supplement the ones already obtained.
The institute offers a grant up to 40,000 Swiss Francs which can be used to pay registration fees, round trip travel to the host institution, accommodation and living expenses and health insurance coverage for the duration of the training. A proportion of this amount will be paid to shorter duration projects. Fellows will also learn specific laboratory techniques, statistics and new information about nutrition.
