The United Nations (UN) is looking for a Web Designer and an Information Manager to join the online volunteering team by working for the Sustainable Development Goals information website for 2020. The Resident Coordinator aims to bring together the different UN agencies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operational activities at the country level. Building public awareness and engaging national, sub-national and local stakeholders in The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and SDGs is a critical initial and ongoing step in successful implementation. Beyond awareness, achieving a similar level of understanding among governmental and non-governmental stakeholders is critical. This means reaching out to all levels and sectors with information that is tailored to their specific functions, roles, and responsibilities. The objective of the website is to allow people to discover how in Cameroon, Government, UN and partners are implementing the 2030 Agenda to lead forward in the fight against poverty, inequality and to promote environmental sustainability.
Responsibilities:
RCO office has developed a website to promote SDGs in Cameroon. The selected candidates will have to manage the website technically (adding features, content, etc.) and, based on data received from partners, develop Information management products. All necessary information will be shared in due time with the selected volunteer(s).
Requirements:
- Applicants must be from Africa.
- Applicants must speak English and French.
- Applicants are expected to work 6-10 hours per week, for 26 weeks.
- Experience in web development and graphic design.
- Able to read data and make infographics of the data (Dashboard, snapshot, etc.).
- Command in Adobe suite.
- Command in Ajax, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Bootstrap and the couple SQL and PHP.
