Opportunity description
Cross-project invites artists from around the world to participate in its annual competition of all kinds of performing arts. The competition aims to encourage research and artistic expressions related to mixing different styles and genres with each other, taking into account multilingual practices and mixing techniques related to various performing arts. It also aims to introduce new unpublished ideas that put in dialogue the language of the body and of the stage performance with musical composition, without any restrictions of the kind, category or practice.

Eligibility Criteria:
- The call is open to individual artists, professionals, and companies.
- The project should consist of several production stages that can be developed during the different phases of the residency and include the most diverse expressive practices such as:
- Dance.
- Music composition and interpretation.
- DJ-set.
- Live soundtrack.
- Composition of a soundtrack.
- The activity of noise music.
- Theatre.
- Body performance.
- Singing.
- New technologies.
- Video art.
- Motion-capture.
- Readings.
- Site-specific design.
Number of Awards:
Four projects will be selected. The winners will be invited to stay in Verbania, Italy for 16 days and will be provided with a dark room, desk space, and stage to carry out their projects.
Value:
- €1,000.00 material budget (one-time).
- €1,000.00 travel budget.
- €2,000.00 stipend (one-time).
- Apartment for housing without meals.
About CROSS:
CROSS is a project of LIS LAB, founded in 2014 by a group of professionals in contemporary performing arts. Les Lab's artistic research is supported by the Cross project, which develops production activities, provides training and promotes contemporary performing arts, focusing on projects that prefer interdisciplinarity.
