Partially Funded BA Scholarships in Engineering at Canterbury University in New Zealand

UC college of engineering has launched its scholarship to recognize top international scholars and supports them in study towards an undergraduate Engineering degree at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand. The scholars will receive financial assistance to a value of $15,000.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Recipients must be full-fee-paying international students.
• Applicants must have completed a university entrance-level qualification that permits entry into a University of Canterbury undergraduate degree program.
• Applicants cannot be already enrolled in a BE(Hons) program at the University.
• ِِAn offer of a scholarship lapses if it is not formally accepted within one calendar month of the date of the offer.
• Students who apply for the scholarship in March must take up the scholarship in the year of application. Students who apply for the scholarship in October must take up the scholarship in the year following the year of application.
• By accepting the award, recipients permit publication and announcement of their acceptance and indicate that they are willing to engage in University community activities, such as student mentoring, acting as University ambassadors, and being involved with University publicity as appropriate.
• In the event of a recipient’s withdrawal from full-time enrollment in a BE(Hons) degree program at the University during the tenure of the scholarship, the scholarship is withdrawn, and any paid funds may be recovered.
• Continuation of a scholarship is conditional on satisfactory academic progress and adherence to the University’s statutes and regulations.

Selection Criteria:

1. Academic achievement.
2. Demonstrated commitment to, and interest in, Engineering.
3. cultural or sporting participation and community service.
4. General character. 

Note: If during the tenure of a scholarship, a recipient’s immigration status changes so that he or she is no longer a full-fee paying international student, and thereby obtains a partial refund of academic fees from the University, the scholarship is withdrawn, and any scholarship money paid since the status change was recorded at the University is refunded to the University.

Funding:

• The scholarship provides financial assistance to a value of $15,000.
• The scholarship is paid annually to a recipient’s tuition fees account after confirmation of full-time enrollment in a BE(Hons) degree program at the University.
• The scholarship is tenable during full-time enrollment in any year of a program for a BE(Hons) degree at the university.
• The scholarship is tenable for one year.
