Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Chemical Industry in China and the UK

University of Surrey in the UK is offering several funded postdoctoral research fellowships in Chemical Industry in cooperation with East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST), establishing joint research labs in a number of cutting edge or emerging research areas for Chemical Engineering. The postdoctoral fellows will be jointly supervised by renowned academics in both universities and will be mainly based in ECUST’s campus at Shanghai. They will also spend two or three years and they are expected to interact with industrial partners.

Applicants must:

[1] Have a background in Chemical Engineering with strong programming skills

[2] Have a PhD in Process System Engineering or Computer Science but other disciplines with strong computing elements will be acceptable

[3] Have experiences related to industry 4.0

[4] Have language skills in English, therefore applicants should have excellent communication skills both orally and in writing

[5] Have excellent computing programming skills in at least one modern language such as Python, C/C++ or Matlab

[6] Be self-learners and rapid learners with an initiative spirit

[7] Be confident, self-motivated and have industrial awareness

There will be a salary comparable to the UK levels depending on the experience, as well as full access to the UK research facilities and the ability to visit the UK as required.
