Opportunity description
The Loughborough University in the UK is offering African graduate students the opportunity to apply for the Doctoral College Development Trust Africa Scholarships in any available postgraduate degree. The scholarships are being funded through a combination of external funding and university funds, replacing any scholarships the applicant may already have been awarded. Applicants must be currently residents of Africa with evidence of exceptional academic achievement, which is normally a 1st class Honors Degree. In addition they must show evidence of their ability and commitment to making a significant contribution to their home country on their return. Applicants should have a full understanding of the costs involved in going to the UK and should demonstrate that they have strong motivation to be able to secure funds to cover the remainder of the costs. Students may only apply after an offer for a place has been made.
The scholarship covers 100% of the course fees for the chosen postgraduate course for one year. Applicants will be expected to fund their own travel and maintenance costs, and evidence of maintenance funds must be included in the scholarship application.
