The University of Dundee in Scotland is offering one-year partial scholarships to outstanding postgraduate students in various disciplines who have received an offer from the university for the year 2020-2021.

Anatomy / Forensic Anthropology / Forensic and Medical Art, Architecture and Urban Planning, Art and Design, Biological/Biomedical Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Business (Accountancy / Economics / Finance / International Business), Civil Engineering, Computing, Dentistry, Education, Electronic Engineering, Energy Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy, Geography / Environmental Science, History, Law, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, Philosophy, Physics, Politics, and International Relations, Psychology, Social Work.
Benefits
- The value of this scholarship is £5,000 and awarded as a tuition fee waiver.
- The scholarship is for 1 year of study only, even if the program is a 2-year Postgraduate Taught program (full time)
- All scholarship awards are offered on an unconditional basis.
- All scholarship awards are deducted from tuition fees and are not paid directly to any applicant.
Eligibility criteria
- Resident anywhere in the world and classified by the University of Dundee as an Overseas Fee-paying student.
- All applicants must have already applied to study at the University of Dundee and received an academic offer of entry for the academic year 2020/21.
- The program must be a full time (180 credits, 12 months), on-campus postgraduate taught program.Ph.D. and Masters by Research Programmes are not covered by this scholarship, with the exception of MSc by Research Life Sciences.
- For applicants studying a program in the School of Medicine, note that these applications will be reviewed on an individual basis.
- The University will automatically award to applicants who have achieved a UK 1st Class Honours Degree (or equivalent).
- For applicants with a Chinese degree, the award criteria are 80% or above.
- The University will also assess the following information to determine an applicant’s eligibility – academic qualifications (both achieved and expected), extra-curricular, and/or voluntary activities.
Key Information:
- All communication with the student will be via email and to their @dundee.ac.uk email address. We may also communicate with other email addresses provided to us by the applicant.
- If the applicant does not meet the academic requirements to be automatically awarded the scholarship, this will be communicated in writing.
- Applicants who have studied one of the University of Dundee Pre-Sessional English Programmes are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
- If you have studied at International College Dundee and are beginning your Postgraduate studies, you are not eligible for this scholarship. You may be eligible for the ICD Excellence Progression Scholarship.
- Applicants can be in receipt of Global Excellence Scholarships may also be eligible for other funding:
- The University of Dundee Alumni Scholarship at £3,000 (if criteria met). This would have a combined scholarship total of £8,000.
- A scholarship of the bursary as part of a partnership with another University (in this case, applicants will receive the highest value scholarship – not both)
- External scholarship, not funded by the University of Dundee, however, the total of both scholarships combined cannot exceed the total yearly tuition fee.
- If an applicant has an external scholarship that covers the full tuition fee, then they are no longer eligible to receive Global Excellence.
- If an applicant has an external scholarship that covers part of the tuition fee, then they can receive the Global Excellence Scholarship in addition. If both combined exceed the total tuition fee, then the Global Excellence amount will be reduced and a lower amount awarded.
- If an applicant chooses to defer their entry within the same academic year, we may be able to defer the scholarship award.
- All scholarship decisions are final and cannot be appealed.
