Arab Media & Society, the journal of the Kamal Adham Center for Television and Digital Journalism (in the School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at AUC is seeking submissions for its next summer/ fall issue on “Science Journalism”. As humanity has moved into the digital age, traditional journalism has suffered and science beats have often been among the first to get the axe. In the Arab world, social and political upheaval and cultural context have, in many ways, compounded this issue. Beyond this, a tremendous regional deficit in academic programs and professional training have negatively impacted the quality and quantity of content reaching audiences in the region. The journal publishes in English and Arabic biannually, in summer and winter. It accepts submissions of quantitative or qualitative academic scholarship addressing any aspect of media or journalism and the Arab world.

- Arab Media & Society accepts manuscript submissions of original research.
- The work may be abridged from a thesis or dissertation.
- Submissions must be original and previously unpublished.
- Manuscripts must be under 10 000 words, including all bibliographic material, and conform to the Chicago Manual of Style.
- Files should be in 12-point font, double spaced, and paginated.
- All submissions should include a brief abstract (maximum 150 words), keywords, and the name of author(s), title, affiliation, and contact information.
- Any figures or images should be sent as separate files.
Book Reviews:
- The journal also accepts book review submissions.
- To be considered, the publication date of the book must be within three years of the submission date.
- Reviews should be between 1500 and 2500 words and must include a brief outline of the topics covered (30 percent) as well as a detailed and critical analysis of the work (70 percent).
Files should be in 12-point font, double-spaced, paginated.
Other Submissions: In addition to our biannual issues, Arab Media & Society publishes content on our website throughout the year. This includes long-form journalism, reporting, video coverage of events, conference reports, and interviews.
Note that: While Arab Media & Society welcomes submissions from diverse disciplines and perspectives, articles should relate in some way to the Arab world and its diaspora, and media or communication technology
