Opportunity description

The Undergraduate Bridge Program is designed for non-native English speakers who need to further develop their academic English skills. Applicants to the program receive conditional admittance to TUJ's Undergraduate Program, and can apply for a student visa through TUJ.

There are three Bridge Program levels. Each Bridge level lasts one semester. A student's level is determined by a combination of their TOEFL, IELTS or PTE scores, and a placement test taken upon enrollment. Note that depending on the placement test result, students may start from a different level regardless of their TOEFL, IELTS or PTE score. Applicants cannot choose their level in the Bridge Program. Visa-sponsored Bridge students are expected to complete the Bridge Program within one year.

Eligibility Criteria:

[1] Completion of High School (Secondary School) or Equivalent.

[2]  Minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA): Applicants seeking a student visa through TUJ must have a GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale, and those who are not must have a GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale (or 3.0 on a 5.0 scale).

[3] TOEFL iBT scores between 53 and 78, or TOEFL PBT scores between 475 and 549, or IELTS (Academic) scores between 5.0 and 5.5, or PTE (Academic) scores between 40 and 52.

[4] TOEFL, IELTS or PTE score meets the requirement, but needs support for improving academic skills before enrolling in the Undergraduate Program.

The scholarship covers:

The university will cover all the tuition and participation fees but students must cover their own visa application fees and housing fees.
