Opportunity description
Stephen Lloyd Awards invite anyone or any organization with an innovative idea that seeks to address a problem systemically to participate in the 2018 competition. Applicants may also be a new-start enterprise or an extension of an organization’s existing work. Stephen Lloyd was an inspirational lawyer and innovator who dedicated his work life to advising charities and social enterprises. The aim of the awards, in line with Stephen’s own approach, is to help create success by finding innovative ideas and projects that can lead to practical and social change at a systemic level, change of policy or legislation, and creation of a new legal form or financial structure. The evaluation process occurs in two stages: the first one depends on the criteria of innovation, systems change, potential to benefit from the wide network of partners, direct impact, clarity of ideas, and evidence. The second stage involves shortlisting applicants for interviews to explain the ideas in depth. After this process, projects will be presented and voted for in the Awards Final Event in the UK, and the shortlisted applicants are expected to be physically present.
A funding of £20,000 will be made available to support winners in developing their initiative. At the shortlist stage, there will be up to 10 awards of up to £2,000. Travel and accommodation costs could be supported if needed.
