Opportunity description

IMA invites all university students across the Middle East and Africa to take part in their Student Case Competition, and get an inspiring and challenging opportunity to respond to a business case on "Angie's Empanadas: Pricing Decisions for a Start-Up." Applicants and their team (maximum five individuals per team) have a chance to showcase their strategic foresight, analytical, and interpersonal skills in front of a panel of industry experts.

What is Involved?

  • Analyze the case published by IMA (Institute of Management Accountants).
  • Develop cutting-edge solutions to a complex set of problems using the skills you have learned at university.
  • Present your creative solutions to leading industry experts.
  • Be recognized for your achievements and efforts.

Prizes

Two finalist teams will be awarded the following prizes:

  1. The winning team will be awarded $3,000 USD
  2. The runner-up team will be awarded $2,000 USD

Rules for Submission of case analysis Presentation

  • Presentations will be limited to no more than twenty minutes. Any presentation exceeding this time limit will be penalized in the judging process.
  • Each team member is required to have an equal part in the presentation.
  • Presentations will be judged on content, style, and response to Case requirements.
  • Visual aids will be judged on their contribution to the presentation.
  • No handouts/written materials will be sent to the judges as part of the evaluation process.
  • No names of the team members or their universities or colleges should be included in the case analysis or within the file name submitted.
  • Fictitious names can be used in the introduction of the solution if it is warranted. The judges will not know the names of any of the teams’ schools that they are judging.
  • Judges will use multiple criteria in evaluating the presentations, including the technical content, presentation skills, case analysis style, presentation organization, and strength of recommendations and conclusions based on case requirements. Reading of note cards is strongly discouraged.
