Opportunity description
These scholarships give talented, motivated, and broadly interested students from Sub-Saharan Africa the opportunity to study at the Delft University of Technology. The Global Initiative aims to support capacity building in the Global South and to advance future leadership focusing on sustainable global development. The UN Sustainable Development Goals are a guiding principle for the TU Delft.
Extent of Scholarship
€25.000 per year for Sub-Saharan students, which includes:
- Full tuition fees for a TU Delft MSc programme based on the statutory fee or institutional rate, according to the registered nationality, AND contribution for the living expenses.
- Membership to the Scholarship club giving access to personal development, workshops, seminars, etc.
- A MSc thesis topic which relates to the Sustainable Development Goals and TU Delft | Global Initiative.
- Be a TU Delft ambassador for Sub-Saharan Africa.
Eligibility
Excellent international applicants (conditionally) admitted to one of the 2-year Regular TU Delft’s MSc programmes are required to:
- Possess a university bachelor's degree in a main subject closely related to the MSc programme to which you are applying for. Some of the available programmes for the MSc Scolarship: Aerospace Engineering, Architecture, Urbanism and Building Sciences, Industrial Design Engineering, Clinical Technology, Nanobiology, Computer Science, Engineering and other technical programmes.
- To be a national of: "Djibouti, Somalia, South-Sudan, Sudan or Mauritania".
- CGPA > 75% (unless specific requirements are defined for your country).
Country specific requirements:
Djibouti: An undergraduate degree from Djibouti does not qualify for admission to an MSc programme. To be considered for admission to an MSc programme, applicants should have a Maîtrise degree with a final cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 14/20 or better.
Somalia: A five year bachelor's degree from a public university with a final cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 80 or better.
South Sudan: An undergraduate degree from South Sudan does not qualify for admission to an MSc programme. To be considered for admission to an MSc programme, applicants should have a master’s degree from a public university with a final cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 75% or better.
Sudan: A five year bachelor's degree from a public university with a final cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 70% or better. - English Language proficiency: (TOEFL, IELTS or Cambridge certificate).
