Opportunity description
The United Nations University in Tokyo announces it PhD Scholarship Program and invites applications from those with a strong interest in sustainability studies. The Three-year program will takes an innovative approach to sustainability, seeking to promote a better understanding of the issues by incorporating global change perspectives, specifically those related to climate change and biodiversity. The program provides students with unique opportunities to interact with leading scholars and policymakers through lectures, international conferences, and workshops.
Applicants must have good english command (100 on TOEFL iBT or 7.0 on IELTS), a completed bachelor’s degree with a GPA of 3.5, and a master’s degree in a field related to sustainability. The scholarship will cover the tuition fees and provide a monthly allowance of of 120,000 JPY (equivalent to $1,083) for living expenses for a maximum of 36 months.
