Opportunity description
The World Academy of Science (TWAS) awards nine individual scientists living in developing countries prizes of $15,000. This year, TWAS is looking for new nominees to award. Nominees must have lived the past 10 years in developing countries and are scientists meeting at least one of the following qualifications:
[1] Scientific research achievement of outstanding significance for the development of scientific thought.
[2] Outstanding contribution to the application of science and technology to sustainable development.
Self nominations are not accepted. Nominators must provide their contact information along with the nominee’s contact information. Nominations must also include the degrees obtained and a list of 12 most significant publications listed in an internationally acceptable format.The names of awardees will be announced on the first day of the TWAS 14th General Conference and 28th General Meeting to be held in November 2018. The winners will be invited to receive their award and give a talk the following year.
