The Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva invites graduate students from different universities and institutions worldwide to participate in the Geneva Challenge for 2018. The challenge is a project funded by the Swiss Ambassador and is supported by Kofi Annan. It aims to encourage problem-solving analysis among students on advancing human development. The subject will be on “The Challenges of Climate Change”, which has become a critical concern for both developing and developed countries. Teams of 3-5 students must submit an 8,000 word proposal which identifies a challenge stemming from climate change, constructs an analysis, and proposes innovation.
Five prizes will be awarded this year per continent, and all members of the selected teams will be invited to Geneva for an oral presentation. The winning project will receive € 8,628, the other two teams in second place will receive € 4,314, and the two teams in third place will receive € 2,157. Travel expenses, visa costs and accommodations are covered by the organization.
