The Mohammed Bin Rashid Award for Arabic Language invites projects and initiatives that contribute to the development of education while raising awareness of the importance of developing and using the language to participate in the competition for 2019. The objectives of the award are:

[1] To establish the position of the UAE as a center of excellence in Arabic language

[2] Highlighting and honoring successful initiatives in different categories of the Award to enable Arabic language workforces to benefit from them

[3] Raising awareness of the importance of personal and institutional initiatives to develop the Arabic language

[4] Encouraging young people and motivate them to innovate in the development of the various uses of Arabic language

[5] Expanding the Arabization of works from different fields of knowledge to benefit from the experiences of world cultures

[6] Raising awareness that the Arabic language is the language of the future, and work to crystallize this role and goal in reality.

Requirements:

[1] The work submitted to participate in the award has not won in other awards

[2] The initiative has not been submitted to other awards in the same year

[3] The initiative submitted is not a university action in which the applicant has a earned a degree

[4] Adherence to the criteria set by the Award

Categories and subcategories of the competition:

[1] Education:

  • Class of the best way to teach and learn Arabic in early education
  • Class of the best initiative for teaching Arabic in school education (grades 1 to 12)
  • Class of the best initiative to teach Arabic to non-Arabic speakers

[2] Technology:

  • Class of the best initiative in using social networking or intelligent technical application for learning and publishing Arabic
  • Class of the best initiative to develop and publish Arabic digital content or Arabic language processors

[3] Media and communication:

  • Class of the best work in Arabic language in electronic media and social media channels
  • Class of the best initiative to serve the Arabic language in the media

[4] Linguistic Policy, Planning and Arabization:

  • Class of the best Language Policy and Planning Initiative
  • Class of the best project of localization or translation

[5] Culture, intellect and knowledge society:

  • Class of the best artistic, cultural orر intellectual work to serve the Arabic language
  • Class of the best initiative to promote reading culture and knowledge society

Selection criteria:

[1] Authenticity and scientific honesty: The work must be authentic, not imitated or copied, taking into account the assets of scientific honesty

[2] Language: The work should be in the correct Arabic language

[3] The objectives of the initiative: The initiative has achieved the objectives and the desired results, or are achievable

[4] Intellectual property: The initiator of the initiative (organization or individual) shall acknowledge ownership of it

Award:

$70,000 for each winning category.
