Volunteer Opportunity in Organizing the International Camps from European Youth Portal

European Youth Portal is offering a volunteer opportunity for young people. JAVVA aims to promote an ideal of tolerance, solidarity and peace between young people from around the world and to encourage their active participation and mobility. The main activities of this organisation include international camps, mid and long term volunteering, local events raising-awareness activities and trainings. 

Eligibility Criteria:

• They are looking for an open-minded volunteer who is interested by migration issues and youth work and willing to learn more about it.
• They are not looking for any specific skill, motivation being the most important criteria for the selection. 

Dates:

 A total of 50 week(s) during the period 24/08/2020 to 20/08/2021

Topics:

• Reception and integration of refugees and migrants
• Citizenship and democratic participation

Responsibilities:

• The main mission of the volunteer will be to support the team in all its activities related to migration issue.
• The volunteer will have the following tasks:

1. Project development with volunteers placed in centres for asylum seekers (ex: raising-awareness events, promotion of volunteering activities among residents,…)
2. Coordination of local projects and search for new local partners
3. Participation to/co-leading of an international workcamp
4. Support to local volunteers willing to set up an initiative related to this topic
5. Raising awareness activities (training on pedagogical tools, creation of new tools,…)
6. Participation to the community life of JAVVA

• Volunteer will be accommodated in a shared flat in Brussels. 
• She/he will get a travel-card for local public transportation.
• and will receive a monthly allowance in order to buy food and also pocket money
• Volunteer will take part in an on-arrival training together with the other ESC volunteers who are hosted by JAVVA's 
• He/she will also have the opportunity to take part in training related to migration issues.
