Win a Trip to Thailand with the Metro Photo Challenge 2018

For the 14^th global edition of the Metro Photo Challenge, Metro is proud to present this year's photography contest that will focus on feelings, titled "Make Us Feel". To be a part of Metro Photo Challenge 2018, and to have the chance of being a local finalist or public vote finalist, and to qualify as a Global Grand Prize winner, you need to upload at least one photo that meets the Approved Photo Requirements.  There are three global categories for photos: 1. Happy 2. Hope 3. Sad and/or Angry. Uploads are due before the November 20^th, 2018.

The Challenge:

The challenge consists of two evaluation phases (“phase one” and “phase two”):

1. Phase one runs from September 24^th - November 20^th, 2018 (participation phase). In phase one, each local jury will select three photos, one in each category, based on the judging criteria. In addition to these three local finalists’ photos, there will be a public vote, through which the local public will select three photos, one in each category, by using the vote button function. The six photos from each country and the “International section” will then be sent to the global final competition in phase two. Local finalists selected by the local juries and the public vote will be announced on November 23^rd, 2018.
2. Phase two runs from December 3^rd - December 7^th, 2018. In round two, a global jury will, in its sole discretion, select one grand winner in each of the three categories based on the judging criteria. The three winners (the “global grand winners”) will be announced on December 12^th, 2018.

Winners and prizes:

The three (3) global grand winners, selected by the global jury will each receive the Grand Prize of a five day photographic expedition to Thailand to be held during the first or second half of 2019. The Grand Prize has a total value of around 3,500 euros per person which includes: round-trip airfare from the country of origin of the Grand Global Winners; accommodation for the whole stay in Thailand (four nights); and activities, transportation, and guide during the whole stay.

Participation Conditions:

1. Applicants must be at least 18 years old to claim the global Grand Prize.
2. Prizes are non-transferrable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
3. If applicants are not residents of any of the Metro countries (Ecuador, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Chile, Nicaragua, Mexico, Russia, Italy and Belgium.), they may still take part in the challenge via the “International section”.
4. The Metro Photo Challenge 2018 is free of charge and open to anyone, other than employees, agents, contractors and consultants (or their families) of metro and its affiliates.

Approved Photo Requirements:

1. Each photo may only compete in one of the countries included in the challenge, as set out above, or in the International Section.
2. Each photo may compete only in one of the three categories.
3. Each photo must be in digital format.
4. Only minor burning, color filters, dodging and/or color correction is acceptable, as is cropping. Other photo-editing techniques, such as photomontage, stitched panoramas and collages can’t be used.
5. Submitted photos must be an original work created solely by participants.
6. A photo that includes a work that may be protected by copyright, for example works of art, statues and written works, may be accepted provided that the included work is only depicted as “an object in its environment”.
7. In order to be accepted in Metro Photo Challenge 2018, the photo may not, in the sole and unfettered discretion of Metro, contain obscene, provocative, defamatory, explicit or otherwise objectionable or inappropriate content.
8. You may include watermarks in your submissions but we strongly recommend you not to do this as it might interfere with the overall judging, so they will be disqualified.
