Opportunity description
The Houloul 2030, supported by the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI), aims to involve young people and community leaders in working with community and human rights organizations and groups that address specific issues to create and develop innovative, sustainable, low-cost digital solutions to the different social challenges.
This challenge allows participants to participate in creating a better world and address the educational, economic, and social challenges facing our communities as well as compete for a $5,000 grant to develop digital solutions that can be tested. The idea is simple: 20 change-makers and social entrepreneurs will be divided into six teams, competing for three grants of $5,000 each to develop digital solutions that can be tested.
Eligibility Requirements:
Eligibility for organizations and groups:
- Participating organizations must have an official registration record in Jordan and the groups must be prepared and approved for formal registration during the program period.
- Organizations and groups must adopt a specific community issue and have a vision, objectives, and activities that serve this issue.
- In case the organization or group is chosen as one of the award-winning teams, they must commit to develop and use their innovative solutions to reach the determined goals.
- The organization or group must commit to the participation of two representatives at all stages of the program starting with the Social Entrepreneurship Camp in December 2018. If the grant is given to this organization, its representatives must commit to periodic work and follow-up until the innovative solutions are ready to be applied and tested.
- All applications received by Tech Tribes will be evaluated based on specific criteria.
Eligibility for individuals:
- Applicants must be between 17-30 years of age.
- Applicants must have experience in social leadership and the use of digital solutions for development in order to support the organizations and guide them to the best ways to overcome the challenges they face.
