Opportunity description

Have you recently written an economics paper that you would like to share with a wider audience? Perhaps you studied math, physics or engineering, but your work has implications for economics. Submit your paper to the NET competition and present your ideas! Get feedback from leading economic scholars and gain ideas and contacts for your future research. The winner will receive 1,000 USD and tickets to CERGE-EI special events.

The Center for Economic Research and Graduate Education – Economics Institute (CERGE-EI) invites university students to submit their papers.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. The competition is open to current bachelor’s and master’s students (full-time or part-time) or bachelor’s and master’s graduates (up to one year after graduation) in any field, who are interested in contemporary economic issues and wish to better understand the forces and processes that ‘shape the world’.
  2. The Competition is international and has two (2) rounds.
  3. The working language is English.
  4. Current CERGE-EI students (including visiting students) and alumni are excluded from participating in the Competition.
  5. If the work has been previously published or submitted to a university in whole or in part, the participant must state this clearly, including the details of where and when the paper was published or submitted.
  6. Participants’ personal and contact details should appear only in the Registration Form.

Prize

The prize for the winner consists of:

  1. 1,000 USD
  2. tickets to CERGE-EI special events in Prague (such as Distinguished Speaker Series) and other networking opportunities
