Opportunity description

Tashkeel platform announces a workshop entitled The Basics of Copper Printing and Engraving in the United Arab Emirates.

Benefits

  • In this workshop you will learn the basic techniques of copper engraving, and a range of tools and techniques to express your creativity.
  • During this workshop you will create an intaglio print from copper plates under the supervision of an instructor with extensive experience in engraving, who will guide you through every step of the process.
  • This will be a six-hour workshop, during which you will master basic engraving techniques such as drypoint, solid ground line etching, plate preparation, and printing.
  • By the end of this workshop you will have gained a comprehensive understanding of copper engraving, and will be equipped to continue honing your skills independently in the future.

Eligibility criteria

  • The trainer responsible for this event will be Majd Alloush.
  • This workshop will be held from 11 am to 2 pm on June 2 and 9, 2024.
  • Only 10 places left with this opportunity.
  • This opportunity will be held at Alserkal Avenue - Warehouse 89.
  • The registration fee for this workshop is 490.00 AED (+ VAT).

About Tashkeel Foundation:

Latifa bint Maktoum founded the Tashkeel Center in Dubai in 2008 to provide an incubator environment for the development of contemporary art and design practices in the United Arab Emirates. The Center provides space for creative and experimental practices and dialogue between practitioners and the broader community by providing multidisciplinary studios, workspaces, and exhibitions in Nad Al Sheba and Al Fahidi. The Tashkeel Center adopts an open membership model and its annual program of training, residency programs, workshops, discussions, exhibitions, international collaborations, and publications aims to support the development of artistic practitioners, engage the community and promote a lifelong learning approach as well as supporting the various creative and cultural industries.
