Tashkeel platform announces a workshop on Palestinian artistic styles in the United Arab Emirates.

Benefits

  • This workshop will highlight the rich history and culture that each Palestinian city is famous for.
  • Participants will choose a specific symbol from the symbols that each Palestinian city is famous for to unveil the captivating language woven into Palestinian slogans, through dynamic practical printing techniques such as stamps, dies, silk-screen printing, and others.
  • After choosing a symbol, each participant will transform it into a stunning cloth masterpiece, decorated with the famous interlocking lines in Palestinian embroidery.
  • By the end of this workshop, participants will receive a unique printed textile, which bears a close connection to the heritage of the symbol they chose, and celebrates the eternal beauties of Palestinian heritage.

Eligibility criteria

  • This workshop will be held from 11 am to 2 pm on January 28, 2024.
  • There are only 15 places left in this workshop.
  • This opportunity will be held at Alserkal Avenue - Warehouse 89.
  • The registration fee for this workshop is 315 AED (+ VAT).
  • The amount paid will be non-refundable again.

About Tashkeel Foundation:

Latifa bint Maktoum founded the Tashkeel Center in Dubai in 2008 to provide an incubator environment for the development of contemporary art and design practices in the United Arab Emirates. The Center provides space for creative and experimental practices and dialogue between practitioners and the broader community by providing multidisciplinary studios, workspaces, and exhibitions in Nad Al Sheba and Al Fahidi. The Tashkeel Center adopts an open membership model and its annual program of training, residency programs, workshops, discussions, exhibitions, international collaborations, and publications aims to support the development of artistic practitioners, engage the community and promote a lifelong learning approach as well as supporting the various creative and cultural industries.
