Applications are open for the African Plant Nutrition Institute (APNI) Annual Photo Contest 2025. This contest invites photographers, researchers, and agriculture enthusiasts to showcase compelling images that highlight the importance of plant nutrition in African agriculture.
This year’s contest features two themes:
- Nutrient Deficiency Symptoms in Crops: Submit examples of nutrient deficiency symptoms in African crops. Ensure a short description is included with location and any key information or observations related to the image.
- Plant Nutrition Research in Action: Capture on-the-ground examples of plant nutrition and soil health-related research in Africa. Supply descriptive captions that communicate how your scene aligns with one of their R&D themes.

Application: Submit photos via the online submission form by the published deadline. Submissions with a visible logo or timestamp on the photo will not be accepted.

Eligibility criteria
- All photos must be from within Africa
- Photos must be at least 1 MB in size to submit
- Up to five (5) photos accepted per person
