Opportunity description
UNV is looking for one onlinevolunteerwho has experience in Arabic language editing and proofreading with excellent writing skills to support the Egypt Country Office’s external communications and the development of outreach materials. The Online Volunteer will have the opportunity to build connections with the Communication Team at UNDP Egypt and learn about the ways in which communicating on the SDGs and sustainable development in Egypt can support the CO and Egypt's broader development goals.
Duties & responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Review, proofread, and edit speeches, statements, op-eds, social media content, and other communication and outreach materials taking into account grammar, style, content, and format, as per UNDP Editorial guidelines.
- The task will include editing and proofreading the following:
- Concept paper, short reports, or section of the report (up to 300 words, 5/months).
- Social media content.

Eligibility criteria
You must have:
- Advanced degree in Social Science, Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, International Development, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of experience in journalism, communications, or a related field.
- A solid experience in the areas of marketing, journalism, digital communication, management, and planning.
- Previous editing and proofreading experience.
- Fluency in Arabic.
- English, Level: Working knowledge.
- Excellent writing, editorial, and presentation skills.
- Familiarity with technical terms related to the SDGs and the UN system will be considered an advantage.
