The Brick Lane Bookshop Short Story Prize 2026 is now open for submissions. Writers based in the UK and Ireland can submit their stories, which must be between 1,000 and 3,500 words. The judging panel includes Andrew Porter, Shani Akilah, and Ludo Cinelli. The entry fee is £10, with a limited number of free entries available for low-income writers on a first-come, first-served basis.
Prizes include: 1st Prize of £1,000, 2nd Prize of £500, and 3rd Prize of £250. The 12 shortlisted stories will be published in the anthology, Brick Lane Bookshop New Short Stories 2026.
