Opportunity description
The Mersin Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MTSO) aims to support regional economic development by facilitating trade, investment, and business growth. In this context, the UN Volunteer, working in line with the objectives of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), will support the Chamber by delivering targeted business advisory services to enterprises engaged in cross-border trade. Please note: There are no application fees. This assignment provides a Monthly Living Allowance (MLA) of USD 1,291, an entry allowance of USD 200, and private insurance.
Duties & responsibilities
Provide business advisory services to SMEs interested in engaging in cross-border trade.
Follow latest developments and policy changes and maintain an understanding of trade regulations.
Facilitate trade-related training for SMEs and business-to-business networking events.
Identify and promote opportunities for cross-border trade among SMEs.
Monitor, control, and submit new entries to business networking platforms and online tools.
Conduct regular follow-ups with SMEs to ensure engagement and progress.
Conduct meetings and establish networks locally and internationally.
Monitor, report on, and assess project objectives and progress.
Eligibility criteria
Age criteria: Applicants must be between 18 and 80 years old.
Experience: At least 2 years of professional experience is required, including proven project management experience.
Education: A Bachelor degree in social sciences, business, economics, engineering, education, or a related field.
Background: Proven experience in private sector or labor market related programmes, and working with governmental bodies.
Experience in facilitating events, trainings, and similar activities is mandatory.
Language proficiency: Native Turkish is required, along with fluency in both English and Arabic.
Citizenship: Must provide proof of citizenship, residency, or right to work in Türkiye.
